Two Japanese storage jars - almost four foot high, these would have been used at sea for transporting eggs! I love the way their shape reflects their contents and how equally delicate and fragile their surfaces are and yet they are solemn and monolithic, big enough to feed the thousands. The light weaves across their surfaces in my studio highlighting their fragility and imposing quality.
