Quay Lines
Shadows and shapes of land and boats blending into one another. There is a sense of industry in this scene, you can smell smoke from the boats fires filling the air their soot becoming the clouds in the sky. The ropes and rigging are free and natural, yet intense and knotted and somehow imprints of human thoughts and needs. I wanted to capture the simplicity of their fluidity and tension. 85 x 70 cm framed. Oil on plywood.
