Paris 2009..a pilgrimage to Cemetery Pere Lachaise - one of my favourite places to gain inspiration. The Cemetery is full of wonderful stonework, iornwork and momento mori. The antique patina and colour is beautiful and silently echos those by gone lives sensitively and quietly. The inserts in the wall are each unique in colour, again defined spaces by human mark making. Du Ciel translates to The Heavenly Sky, a beautiful concept within the otherwise morbid time of death.
