The golden basin or the golden shell is an area of Italy famed for its abundant lemon groves. Here my shells are the link from my lemon series into the exploration of the notion of pilgrimage. Shells have so many connotations, one major pilgrimage Camino de Santiago is guided by marker clam shells.
