Alteo

Alteo spells the beginning of Winter with a riot of oak leaves, berries and amaryllis. In Greek mythology the name "Amaryllis" was the shepherdess who pierced her heart for her unattainable love 'Alteo' a shepherd with Apollo's beauty and Hercules strength who only loved flowers. For 30 nights Amaryllis pierced her hear at his door with a golden arrow and finally revealed a crimson flower which sprung from her blood-she had brought him a new flower and Amaryllis won Alteos heart.
