I hand-dyed some linen the most spirit lifting colour of magenta. The fabric was drying in the sunshine outside on the washing line and it reminded me of the vibrancy of India and Morocco, the dyeing industries, the bustling markets, piles of spices, dried fruit and fresh fruits...I gathered together some fresh juicy oranges in an antique Indian painted box and the composition came together instantly to remind of those tangible glimpses of memory.
