The view across Llyn Peris (lake), near Llanberis, Snowdonia. The landscape here is so ancient, the vista of bygone times. I'm standing in the remnants and remains of the miners cottages, once a busy, painful place of hard graft and endurance. The sadness in the fact that their windows of their lodgings faced inwards so they were unable to gaze and contemplate this view in their rest times, which I'm sure would have raised their spirits...as we gaze from our windows at home to the places that ground us. 97 x 78 cm.
