Citrea Sfumato

The precious citrus fruit showed status in ancient Rome. They were extremely rare and very, very prized. The Romans only knew citrons and lemons, it took centuries for their cousins to migrate from Southeast Asia and Western Europe. Lemons were luxury items, the first remains found in ancient Rome date to the time of Jesus Christ. Sfumato refers to tones and colours shading gradually into one an other, producing soft or hazy forms.
