Whist walking the Devil's Kitchen I came across this little hut in the landscape which was nothing more than a square box, newly placed and tied to the ground with these big thick bright blue nylon cables. The contrast against the landscape was graphic and tense..it represents a struggle for us humans surviving the elements in such a place. The box the ultimate sanctuary away from the world. The same way that the birdcage in my previous works is about having the freedom to escape and return, this is about protecting from the escape.
